Frequently Asked Questions

Please reach us at GreenwayPride@Outlook.com if you cannot find an answer to your question.

Greenway Pride is an annual celebration held along Southside Bethlehem’s greenway between

Taylor/Adams Streets and Third/Fourth Streets. Greenway Pride was started by a group of

community volunteers as an affirmation of Southside Bethlehem values of inclusion and

diversity, and as a reminder that our community is one that accepts and loves all humans

regardless of gender, sexuality, race, class, or ability.

This year's event celebrates "Halloween in July" a Halloween-themed party featuring a costume contest, drag performers, DJs, dancing, oddities market, and more! Our organizers love Halloween so much they couldn’t wait until October to celebrate!

Greenway Pride is held along South Bethlehem’s greenway between Taylor/Webster Streets and Third/Fourth Streets. DJ tunes and dancing will be at the Harmony Pavilion and vendors and community organizations will be set up along this block on the greenway. The best address to use for GPS navigation is 333 Taylor Street Bethlehem PA 18015.

Yes! Greenway Pride is open to the public however we will have vendors on site selling their items.

We are a rain or shine event (except in extreme or unsafe conditions)!

Costumes and pride gear are definitely encouraged but you should wear whatever makes you comfortable! As our event is held outside, you should make sure to bring any items you may need to endure the summer elements such as umbrellas, water bottles, sunscreen, snacks, cooling towels, sunglasses, etc.

Free pizza will be provided by Sotto Santi as well as ice water, snacks, and frozen treats available at the “Hydration Station” next to the Harmony Pavilion. There are plenty of restaurants in walking distance of our event so feel free to bring your own food!

As this is a family-friendly event, alcohol is not permitted.

We love all furry friends and they are always welcome at our event – please be mindful of the weather and keep your fur babies at home if they do not tolerate the heat!

This year’s costume contest will feature three categories including:

  • “Best Witch” (judged by Hocus Pocus Cleaning Services): any witch-related costume or character from popular culture
  • “Most Creative” (judged by Main Street Real Estate Group & Bluewater Abstract): costumes that demonstrate imagination, inventiveness, and/or humor
  • “Hauntingly Fabulous” (judged by Eskandalo! & The Other Side): costumes that embody pride or pride-related themes

Costume contest, including contestant announcements and awards, will be held roughly between 5:00PM and 6:00PM. Contestants will be asked to come on stage when their category is called and introduce themselves and their costume. Judges will then deliberate and announce the winners for each category. Prizes include gift cards to local businesses in southside Bethlehem.

Please keep in mind that this is a community celebration that welcomes all ages – so we encourage costumes that are respectful, inclusive, and family-friendly. Think magical, bold, imaginative, and uplifting!

This year’s event will feature tunes by DJ Sakura Ryoko and will be emceed by Jenny Henny of Henn House Events who will be performing as “Winnifred Sanderson” from Hocus Pocus. Chaotique Énergie will be performing as Agatha from “Agatha All Along” and Rainbow Dog Entertainment will be on site making balloon animals and face painting!

Lehigh Valley Queer Quoir will facilitate a one-day choir experience for members of LGBTQ+ community. Queer Quoir will be rehearsing from 2:30PM until 3:45PM(ish) at Touchstone Theatre (321 E. 4th street) and then opening up Greenway Pride at 4PM right around the corner at the Harmony Pavilion along South Bethlehem's greenway! NO experience or preparation is required to join the rehearsal and performance. If you'd like to sing, come as you are and add your voice to our collective experience! All voices are welcome, however the Quoir is for ages 18 and older.
